this was part of a huge art installation that covered the playa. this hanging "burn barrel" represented our sun at a ratio of 1:2.7 billion. each planet in our solar system was located around the playa at exactly the correct distance from the sun, respecting the 1:2.7 billion ratio. the sun was located between the cafe and the man. mercury and earth can be seen in the distance. pluto was located by the trash fence.
